National level 'Green Olympiad' Award

Mansukhbhai Kothari National school , Pune has been selected for an 'Award' in National level 'Green Olympiad' online competition 2016-17( Jointly conducted by TERRE & Govt of India)in Saplings category (grade 5-9)Award was given on Saturday 18th Feb 2017. by Hon. Minister of HRD.Shri Prakash Javdekar. at Pune during a ceremony. More than 18000 students took part in the same competition from all over the country.

SIP Abacus 'Prize Distribution Ceremony'

SIP Abacus 'Prize Distribution Ceremony' took place on Sunday 12 th Feb.evening at MKNS Auditorium.Around 300 parents and students from 15 schools of pune attended this Award function.8 students from MKNS school also received prizes for their achievements at various levels.

Principal Dr.Sandeep Khanna received 'Innovation in Leadership' Award from SIP abacus and distributed prizes to winning students from various schools.

PRE PRIMARY SPORTS DAY

PRE PRIMARY SPORTS DAY-(17thFeb 2017)-The students of Pre- primary section were in different and enjoyable mood on 17th February 2017 as they celebrated their most awaited moment i.e the Annual Sports Day. Each child participated in one or the other activity.The program started with the awareness message of being fit and fine by Aerobics performance that was conducted by K1 students. The Day was remarked by various different races based on the theme of DISNEY Stories. Students of k2 even showed the mantra of fitness by performing some steps of Zumba. Lastly to encourage and boost up the sports man ship of Pre- primary students, our respected Principal sir Dr. Sandeep Khanna awarded each one of them with the medal and stamping them as the star of MKNS.

SIX TROPHIES won by MKNS at SIP "Regional and National Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition" held at Mumbai on Sunday 20th November.Around 3500 students took part in the National final round.

Aditi oswal from grade 3 received 1st runner up trophy at state level , 3rd at National level and Gold Medal in this mega event.Ehtesham Ali from grade 8 also received winners trophy along with 3 more students.

National I.T. Olympiad

Achievement 3...(revised)Ayush Agarwal of Grade 9 from MKNS secured 2nd place in Final round of National I.T. Olympiad and was presented with a Trophy, Medal and laptop at Inamdar College in presence of dignitaries and media.More than 3 lakh students from appeared for this National level online olympiad.Many other students from MKNS also received medals and certificates for securing top ranks in first round.

Star of MKNS Bag laurels in various OLYMPIADS

ASHWIN SHENAI of grade XI A is among the top 30 candidates selected for RMO(REGIONAL MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD) in the Maharashtra and Goa Region. The international Olympiad movement is aimed at bringing the most gifted secondary and higher secondary students o the world together in friendly competition of the highest level. The Homi Bhabha Center for science education is the nodal centre of the country for this programme. The programme aims at promoting excellence in science and mathematics among pre university students.

first runner up at PAI IT Olympiad

AYUSH AGARWAL from grade 9 was the first runner up at PAI IT Olympiad held at Azam Campus, pune. It is the biggest online I.T Olympiad in india. It is held on a school level online IT contest for schools and junior colleges from all over the country. This year more than 200 schools and junior colleges has participated and around 15000 students appeared for India's most popular IT championship. He received an ASUS Notebook, Trophy silver medal and certificate o Excellence as a runner up in CUBS category. Many other students from MKNS also Received medals and certificated for securing top ranks in the first round. Principal Dr. Sandeep khanna congratulated the winners and spoke about promoting such competitions more often in school

Achievement 19 :- SHOULDERING RESPONSIBILITY WITH PRIDE AND ZEAL

The Investiture Ceremony of the Prefectorial Board of Mansukhbhai Kothari National School, Kondhwa, Pune, took the pledge of honor on 21th December 2016 during the special assembly. The occasion was graced by Special Guest Col. Kulkarni, who congratulated the badge holders and encouraged them to shoulder their duties with 'locality, truth and honor'. The Principal Dr. Sandeep Khanna inspired the 'young leaders' to uphold the values of the school and to keep 'Mansukhbhai Kothari' flag flying high while discharging their duties honestly and impartially and also encouraged them to excel in their future endeavours. It was a defining moment for newly elected Captains as they administered oath and pledged to work earnestly and keep the school motto of loyalty, truth and honor in high esteem. The Special Guest Col. Kulkarni, in his speech congratulated the Office Bearers and advised them to take up their duties sincerely and with full commitment.

Achievement 20 :- FESTIVE SPIRIT CONTINUES AT M.K.N.S

Christmas celebration was witnessed at Mansukhbhai Kothari National School. Children participated in carol singing. An English Nativity play was enacted highlighting the spirit of Christmas and the birth and sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sake of humanity. Children performed enthralling dances adding to the festive atmosphere. Santa dressed in red and white clothes, carried bags full of goodies and distributed candies and gifts among children. Dr. Sandeep Khanna, the Principal, expressed his delight on seeing such enthusiasm in the children who brought the spirit of Christmas to life as he wished the children a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. A fancy dress competition was also organized for juniors in the pre primary section wherein children came dressed up as various characters. The talent show by children won hearts of the audience.

'Overall School trophy' - 1st Position

at 'Carmelvenza' 2016 organised by Mt.Carmel Jr College, Pune on 17th & 18th November:-
^School received 'Overall School-1st trophy' by winning most of the competitions.
**In "upcycling" event i.e Best out of waste,school secured 1st place.
**In "Modelling minds" event 2nd position.
**In cultural event "Dancing starz" 1st place.
**In "Brillionare Maths Quiz" our team of 3 students won the quiz securing 1st place.
8 schools took part in the same.

Annual Grandparent's Day - Pre Primary

"Pre primary section" of MKNS organised it's Annual Grandparent's Day on Saturday 19th November. More than 450 grandparents and parents attended the same .They were thrilled to see their grandchildren performing on stage.School also remembered our 'founder' on this occasion for his hardwork & vision.

'DaanUtsav' at MKNS

'DaanUtsav' is India's 'festival of giving' celebrated every year, commencing on Gandhi Jayanti. This year, students from primary section of MKNS also celebrated 'Daan Utsav' by contributing their extra stationery for Underprivileged children of society and experienced the 'Joy of giving'.

Aero modelling (with recycled materials)

*'Solar power Bank' made by our students was appreciated by everyone.Also, a special plane made by aero modelling gp(with recycled materials) was centre of attraction in the exhibition.

District level Karate competition

A group of students took part in the District level Karate competition last Saturday.They won 30 medals & a Trophy in this event.

'Voice of Pune' award

Sarah chipchandlier-a student of MKNS was awarded -'Voice of Pune' at prestigious 'Pune Festival in presence of dignitaries'.There were 150 contestants for this title.

Educational trip to FTII pune

"Conference at - Early Childhood Association- India"

Avhievemnts-Sept.2016-MKNS participated in ECA "Early Childhood Association- India" conference at Hotel Sun N Sand-Pune and received a certificate for using 'Best practices & Innovation in Early Childhood education' by ECA president. Event was covered by media partners-'Brainseed' & 'Education World' magazines. Also, Principal was felicitated with an Award by Mrs. Vandana Chavan (Member of Parliament from Pune & ex.Mayor) in the Conference .More than 400 delegates from 150 pre schools and 20 other schools of Pune attended this event. Mr.Ketan Bhagat-Younger brother of Writer Chetan Bhagat & one of the Speakers in the conference, presented his best seller book-'Child in god' to the Principal.

Prize distribution in the morning assembly took place on 1st Sept 2016 for Various Interschool achievements for August' 2016.MKNS won prizes in 4 different schools-Amanora, GG International, DPS and MSE school, pune.

'MKNS' in ROBOFEST 2016

3 students from grade 7&8 represented 'MKNS' in ROBOFEST 2016-an Inter-school Robotics workshop / fair on 16th and 17th August organised by DPS pune for the first time where 10 schools were present and secured 3rd prize.

'Founder's Day' was celebrated on 25 thJuly

'Founder's Day' was celebrated on 25 thJuly evening in the Auditorium of MKNS to pay our tribute to 'Babuji' on his 91st birth anniversary wherein school organised a variety of cultural programmes.All parents from grade 5 to 11 were invited for the event where more than 500 students performed on the stage with great Zeal and enthusiasm .Prize distribution ceremony for various Inter school events and other achievements also took place.

"Best District Principal Awards" received by Dr.Sandeep Khanna, Principal (MKNS-Pune) in June 2016 from representative of (SOF)Science Olympiad Foundation.MKNS performance was excellent amongst 40 pune schools during this year.A large number of students qualified for 2nd level for English , Maths, science and won prizes . Their medals and prizes were distributed during Founder's Day on 25th July 2016.

MKNS organised 'Inter- School-Quiz' on the occasion of 'World Earth day' on 22nd April in association with Dept. of Forest, Pune.10 teams from various CBSE schools took part in the same.Topics covered were Nature, environment and science. All schools appreciated the efforts of MKNS including Dy.Director General and chief conservator of Forests, Pune for arranging this event for the first time . Prizes to the winners and certificates to all were given by Dept. Of Forest,Maharashtra.

MKNS-PUNE was awarded by Microsoft for "Create to Inspire" School programme on 25th Feb 2016 evening at Pune.Wr were on the top of the list for collecting maximum E waste.Also we got a prize for our contribution to environmental conservation.2 teachers, Ms.Nilofer S and Manisha k also received certificates for their contribution and successfully completing this programme

MKNS Students took part in Plastic Free PUNE campaign on 13 Feb 2016 morning near NIBM along with other schools. Their efforts were appreciated by all present.

School secured 2nd place in state level robotics competition where 30 schools took part. prize distribution ceremony on 28th January.2 students Ayush Jain & Raphael D'Almeida from MKNS were awarded in presence of dignitaries and other schools for this achievement.

Contribution and initiative by MKNS towards

School initiated social service project in March this year ..to convert a 25 acre forest on NIBM Rd that was being used as dumpyard into a nature park (called Anandvan now )with the help of nearby residents. It's my pleasure to share that we were recognised for these efforts of MKNS and Minister of Environment & Forest. Sh.Prakash Javdekar presented an "Award" to the Principal along with other NGO s for his contribution and initiative during a program organised on - 4th Oct 2015 inside Anandvan in presence of dignitaries and local residents.

Green Olympiad Achievement

MKNS clinches top position in Green Olympiad
The Mansukhbhai Kothari National School bagged the first prize in the sapling category in the recently held Green Olympiad. The award was presented by Union minister for human resource development Prakash Javadekar.Principal Sandeep Khanna, who was accompanied by students, received the trophy from Javadekar at Tilak Smarak Mandir. Green Olympiad is an environmental awareness quiz competi tion held in two categories -sapling and plant.The online contest was organised by the state forest department in association with Technology , Education, Research and Rehabilitation for the Environment policy centre. Top three schools with maximum participation and top 20 students from each category were awarded. Javadekar said students play a key role in sensitizing their peers as well as their kin about the importance of conserving nature.
